When I think of qualities I hope to instill in my son, I think of our family values: faith, family and
friends. I know Joseph will continue to grow in character and integrity. I’ve already seen those
qualities develop as he becomes older. Many people have their kiddos join Taekwondo for self-
esteem building. Joseph has strong self-esteem and he is gaining self-control and an internal
focus of control. He has a wonderful spirit and zest for life. Taekwondo at the Colorado
Taekwondo Institute (CTI) is helping him develop a meaningful way to reign his spirit. When our
friends ask about Joseph’s attitude toward Taekwondo, I answer, “He is passionate about
Taekwondo.”

He is learning that hard work leads to recognition and success. He is proud of his Taekwondo
accomplishments. He loves his trophies but when asked what he liked about a tournament, he
replies, “I learned something new and I tried my best.” I love that answer because it applies to
so many aspects of life!

Also, Taekwondo at the CTI is helping Joseph understand mutual respect – for himself and
others.

Thanks CTI!
